Doug remains very active with Eve Sévigny violinist/actress, composing and contributing with his unique soundscapes in Violon Up Electric Cat, his duet with violin, voice, key tar, MOOG synthesizers, accordion and piano.

Since 2017, the formation now has more than 100 official performances and 2 hours of continuous music.

His career as a multi-keyboard player began at the age of 16 with the Dion twins, a local progressive rock band.

Teaming up and living on the road, they worked together to book a tour across Canada from 1979 to 1981.  

Playing a gig in Bourbon Street Club in Ste-Adèle, the famous band The Police recording the SYNCHRONICITY album were in the audience. 

Sting approached Doug and asked him: ”Why are you not playing originals?” 

From that day on, Doug had a desire to change direction and focus on the flow of original projects.

Then a colorful collaboration with Luba from Montreal discovery will lead to the album CHAIN ​​REACTION. Douglas propels the talented singer who won Junos Awards 3 years in a row.  

With Hollywood And Wine and Francine Raymond at the vocals, Douglas records the album by Jeff Hughes HAPPY BIRTHDAY KID. 

Among the results, an opening act for Greg Lake of Emerson Lake And Palmer and Gary Moore at the Theater Saint-Denis.

Doug was greatly influenced by the meeting at Forum in Montreal with Keith Emerson of Emerson Lake and Palmer (ELP), famous for playing on the giant MOOG synthesizer. Since then, he has always been inspired by the energy instilled by his mentor.

Among the other influences, we may mention Walter Carlos Clockwork Orange, Bernard Herrmann movie soundtracks, Oscar Peterson and many others.

In the Arkansas Blues Society, Doug would go on to win the Blues competition in 2001.
